Output: Concept note that can be used for fund-raising purposes (to obtain a project development grant). The concept note should address the issue of BioTrade in Southern Africa, focussing on policy changes and capacity building required to create an enabling environment. It should offer an integrated approach to combating desertification (UNCCD), sustainable use of biodiversity (CBD) and trade in endangered species (CITES) (and possibly issues related to climate change mitigation, sink enhancement and adaptation). It should be based on the work advanced by the IUCN Natural Features Programme and additionally include issues related to ABS of biological resources.
